Have you ever watched a movie filmed in a location so stunning you felt the most important thing you could do in that moment was make plans to get your ass there as quickly as possible?
It has happened to me – more than once. Today I was thinking about what I’d write and a song popped into my head, the theme song for a movie that inspired me to travel.
The song, Against All Odds, was the title song for the film, Against All Odds, performed by Phil Collins, one of my favorite musicians. That song reminded me of the film and the many beautiful memories of trips to Cancun, Tuluum, and Cozumel.
The music video is interspersed with scenes from the movie and the fantastic scenery of Mexico’s Caribbean beaches. I’ve always thought of travel as having a romantic and mysterious aura and great scenery is a huge piece of that picture.
The movie is all about the relationship between the main characters, played by Jeff Bridges, James Wood, and Rachel Ward. In spite of having an outstanding cast the movie was not Oscar material. The locations and the scenery definitely were though…the amazing turquoise water and the ancient Mayan ruins, Chichen Itza and Tuluum.
In fact, you’ll see the same shot of Tuluum , with Jeff Bridges in it. Sadly, he wasn’t there the day I was.
If you haven’t been to Tuluum or the Caribbean beaches of Mexico get thee there as soon as possible. There’s not better place to feel away from it all and so close to the USA. Have a look at the video and see if you aren’t inspired too. Check it out:
