Beauty is a universal language and Italians know beauty. After all, Italy is the birthplace of the Renaissance, of Michaelangelo, Dante, Ferrari’s, and Leonardo da Vinci. They also know how to make the most of an opportunity!
I was at Piazza Farnese in Rome, enjoying an Aperol spritz, listening to the street musicians. Three women sat at the next table–one of them was the woman with me in the photograph. She was carrying an especially nice Italian leather handbag and I could not resist commenting on it. A friendly conversation about fashion and beauty ensued and I soon revealed that I am a professional makeup artist.
While it’s not uncommon for people to ask me for advice and makeup tips, this woman fished her cosmetics bag from that fancy Italian leather purse and suggested I give her a lesson on the spot. I’m used to working on location and thought, why not! Besides, I was feeling quite good from the Aperol spritz and I was alone.
I love teaching women how to make the most of their natural beauty by utilizing the makeup tools they already have on hand. Interested? If you’ll rent me a studio in Piazza Farnese I promise you, I’ll be there.

Interesting MU opportunity!
It was very fun! I can’t imagine it happening now. I hope we haven’t lost our natural desire to connect and know strangers.
So glad to see you enjoy the sight of our beautiful country. The Italians admire beauty, and you would fit right in. It was so sweet of you to help out those women with their makeup products. Looking forward to attending one of your classes soon!
