Are you the kind of person who wears their cowboy boots with a suit and tie (or a ball gown)? Is your idea of comfort the finest Italian linens, custom furnishings, gourmet food, and 6,600 acres to call home? Oh, and don’t forget the 24/7 on-call staff who goes out of their way to make your every wish their command.

Do you want all of that, but with a comfortable, this feels like home vibe? Then The Ranch at Rock Creek is calling your name.

This ultra-luxury dude ranch in Montana’s big sky country is exclusive, but never stuffy.

A Forbes 5 Star Travel Guide Award recipient, The Ranch at Rock Creek is an all-inclusive resort located near the tiny town of Philipsburg, Montana. Nestled at the base of the John Long Mountains, The Ranch provides a peaceful natural environment for guests to enjoy outdoor adventures.

Target practice, horseback riding through miles of meadows, fly fishing in crystal clear waters, hiking, mountain bike riding, and my favorite, archery, are just a few of the carefully thought out activities offered.
No ball gowns are required.

Accommodations at The Ranch vary from intimate cabins for two to three bedroom homes for a family holiday. Granite Lodge, the heart of the ranch, offers nine luxury rooms with authentic western decor and drop-dead views.

Glamping (glamour plus camping), in luxury canvas cabins or tents beside Rock Creek, is also an option. In fact, The Ranch at Rock Creek was one of the first to offer luxury glamping. Imagine falling asleep to the sound of the river flowing, the cool mountain air lifting the curtains…sounds like heaven to me.

If it’s relaxation you seek, a swim in the beautiful outdoor pool is an option (it’s heated in winter months). You can also try a yoga class or book a massage at the Granite Spa.

After all that relaxing activity, maybe you’ve worked up a thirst? The Silver Dollar Saloon, located next to the Granite Lodge, is a fully stocked bar with an authentic western ambiance. With a computerized bowling alley, 14 ft. HD video screen and viewing area, you may have a hard time imagining the Wild West. Here’s where you can wear your dress boots.

I am not into glamping (which is why I turned this post down), but your photos make me want to change my mind! Luxury + outdoors. What could be nicer?

This looks like an absolutely wonderful place to stay! I could sleep a whole weekend away in those beds!

I dream of sleeping a lot in a big bed like that, but I never can allow myself that luxury.

I’m intrigued by the Dude Ranch experience and would love to try it out. I’m also a big fan of glamping 🙂

Penny Sadler October 14, 2014 at 7:59 am

Mary, aren’t you and Bret professional glampers? 🙂

This looks amazing! Can’t say the idea of a dude ranch ever appealed to me in the past, but this is something I could definitely get used to 🙂

I thought the same thing.
