Fiesta Santa Barbara: Photo Essay
The annual Fiesta Santa Barbara Old Spanish Days celebrations were last week in Santa Barbara, California and it was just as fun, colorful, and memorable as years past.
I’ve written a lot about the Fiesta Santa Barbara Historical Parade in previous articles, so I’m just going to get on with sharing the newest photos from this year’s parade. Viva La Fiesta!
These images are from the opening night ceremonies at the Old Mission Santa Barbara.
Love these faces!
Every parade begins with the flower girls who obviously throw flowers to the crowds.
Followed by the dancers. They are one of my favorite subjects to photograph.
Another favorite – the Mariachis.

The Old Spanish Days float.
A lot of people don’t realize that ranching is a big part of California culture. Cowboys aren’t only from Texas! That’s what this float is about.
Can’t recall who these guys are, but don’t they look great!
Can’t forget the marching bands. This one is Oxnard High School.
Finally a bit of showmanship.
Fiesta 2015 will be held August 5th through the 9th. Viva la Fiesta!
